USA: DOT to improve passenger rights

Most airlines don’t provide a refund of baggage fees if the bags are lost or delayed. A new DOT rule would require airlines to refund the fee if a bag is lost or not delivered in a “timely” manner. Exactly what “timely” means is yet to be determined. The Transportation Department also wants to make airlines pay passengers more when they’re bumped off, allow passengers to cancel reservations within 24 hours of booking with no penalty and require better disclosure of fees and surcharges.Source: The Washington Post; find article here>>.
