A contractual provision in which the quality or character of a term or service is expressly guaranteed. The failure of the item or service to meet the specifications of the warranty renders the one making the warranty (“warrantor”) liable for breach of the warranty, regardless of whether the warrantor was himself negligent or otherwise responsible for the breach.
